The term "Waldensian Valleys" is the name by which three valleys of western Piedmont (the Pellice, Germanasca and lower Chisone) are often known.
The long history of the Waldensian movement has left a tangible heritage in these valleys, including museums, historic sites and buildings, which bring to light its historical, cultural and religious aspects.
The Waldensian communities began, starting at the end of the 19 th century, to more conscientiously maintain this rich cultural heritage, promoting a preservation and enhancement process, leading to the existence today of many sites and facilities to visit. The Eco-Historical Museum System of the Waldensian Valleys today includes 10 museum structures and five historic sites.
Activities are promoted through the Coordination of Waldensian Museums and Historic Sites. The Waldensian itineraries promotion office "Il barba" serves as the secretariat for the Coordination and manages the guided visits and educational activities.
