A large part of the Waldensian Cultural Centre Foundation's work is based on collaborative
projects
of cultural promotion and regional development. The work is set within a network of Italian and foreign Protestant institutions with strong interactions with the public sector. The Foundation works consistently with the Tavola Valdese for 8 per mille projects (i.e. "8 out of 1000 Euro" of income tax funds when covenanted by the taxpayer), and with the Waldensian Studies Society for publishing enterprises. In the public sector some of the most important partners are the Ministry for Cultural Heritage and Activities, the Regional Council of Piedmont, the Council of the Province of Turin and the network of Comunità Montane (administrative bodies of mountain areas). Recently EU projects such as "Leader Plus" have allow new relationships to grow with several other associations and institutions.
The Foundation contributed to the promotion of integrated cultural projects such as "Freedom paths: art and culture" launched in the region of the town of Pinerolo, not far from Torre Pellice where the Foundation lives and operates.
Carrying out these projects requires a considerable commitment, which pays off in making the Waldensian heritage available to a wider public, rendering it an invaluable means for lively and relevant dialogue and exchange in the European context.
