Some examples

The Map of Religions
Il In 2005, the Escartons and Waldensian Valleys Local Action Group initiated several educational projects to promote the region and its resources. Among these the creation of "The Map of Religions in the Pellice valley" was entrusted to the Waldensian Cultural Centre Foundation. A broad overview of the religious and intercultural components of the region was proposed. The Foundation could bring into play its competence in local cultural and historical heritage to foster critical thinking through the study of history. The project originated as a path to deeper knowledge of the countless aspects of the region's cultures and religions.

A first phase was carried out in the primary school of Luserna San Giovanni during the school year 2005-2006. After an introductory part on the study of religion and discovery of the territory, the children were involved in the creation of a "Map of Religious Buildings and Sites in the Pellice Valley," with information on the different religious denominations. A collection on CD-ROM and various teaching aides for elementary and middle schools were produced.

The second phase began in the school year 2007-2008 in collaboration with the Waldensian-European High School of Torre Pellice. The goal is to produce a training course in subjects such as local history and history of religions. The students attend preliminary meetings in the classroom with people representing different communities, followed by field trips to religious buildings and sites. At the end of the sessions high school teaching aides will be produced.
